Doug Conn (b.1968) is an American magician who has been performing professionally for over 20 years.

Biography

Conn has been practicing, performing and creating close-up, sleight of hand magic for over 25 years. If there’s a (close-up/parlor) venue to be worked, he has worked it: Casinos, Riverboats, Restaurants & Bars, Hotels, Banquets, House Parties, Fairs & Festivals, Street Theater / Busking, Corporate Gatherings, Trade-shows, Meetings, Product Promotion and much more.[1]

Conn spends his free time in pursuit of the illusive miracle. These pursuits have produced a large body of original work, much of which has seen print in major magic publications including: Magic Magazine: Several contributions including a one man Talk about Tricks Column in the February 2013 issue. The Linking Ring (one man parade 1997) Modus-Operandi: Several Items, including Doug's first published effect, the critically acclaimed "Chameleon Sandwich" and even the French Magazine Arcane.

He has penned a few original manuscripts and has also contributed to several large book projects; CyberSessions, The Magician’s LTD Cookbook, Best of All Worlds, Magic in Mind and more.

In 1999 Paul Cummins and his FASDIU press released the first Hardcover Magic Book that focused on Doug’s Original Close-up Creations: “Tricks of My Trade – The Magic of Doug Conn” the book was well received and quickly sold old. Paul Cummins has just released a 2nd printing of the book.

In 2013 Built to Last – By Doug Conn was released. This magical two disk DVD set that documents Conn’s most popular experiments. If you’re a magician that’s interested in learning some strong commercial magic, check it out. The Set has been well received with critical acclaim worldwide. Reviews from Genii magazine, Vanish (the international online zine) Magic on the Side (pod cast) and many other sources have all been postive. Some have called it the DVD set of the decade. Doug sends open thanks to Rich Aviles and the folks at trcky.com for making a DVD set one can truly be proud of.

Hand in hand with that, the Pinky Swear DVD project was also released. This DVD covers the Pinky Count and the Pass in detail, along with six routines that use this deadly combination. Pinky Swear(2012) is a 45 min DVD that focuses on techniques with the pinky count and the pass and several effects using the two in unison
