Patrick "Pat" Page (b.1929-d.2010) was among the first wave of British post-war magicians.
Biography
The youngest of six siblings, he married Margaret at 22 before moving to London to work at Davenports Magic Store where he stayed on for 15 years (later as a manager). Demand for his evening performances soon to hold and he became a professional magician at 26.
Mr Page appeared on TV with Paul Daniels in the 1970s and worked on a variety of musical and show business productions. In 2006 he was asked to be a consultant on the film Casino Royale, which used several scenes involving playing cards. Page also worked as an adviser for Derren Brown. Page's abilities as a performer and adviser were combined with the 2007 film "Magicians", starring comedians David Mitchell and Robert Webb.
Throughout his long career Mr. Page worked the club circuit, wrote books and recorded instructional videos for magicians. As a master of the Topit, he gained the admiration of his peers.
He continued to work right up until his death last week.
