Ads for members to join with classes for "boys, amateurs and professionals" could be seen in the Eagle Magician in 1915.
The official publication was ORESTO was sent only to members.
Members of "Wayne Wizards Association" of Lyons, New York merged with the SAAM and also received the ORESTO.
In 1920, it was reported int the Sphinx (April, 1920) that members voted on a new title doing away with the word "amateur", becoming the Secret Association of American Magicians (in so keeping the acronym: S-double A-M).
After the name change, not much was published about the organization in other magic magazines.
