Sympathetic Cards

Sympathetic Cards is a classic plot in card magic which the performer makes a person chooses in one deck a similar card in another one.

In "Nouvelles Récréations mathématiques et physiques" by Gilles-Edme Guyot (1769) there is: "Faire qu'une personne choisisse dans un jeu une carte semblable à celle qui a été tirée d'un autre jeu." (Make that a person chooses in one deck a card similar to another one which was taken from another deck).
