Inspired by the Stars of Magic series in both design and content, the Masters of Magic series was published by the Camirand Academy of Magic from 1978 to 1986. Six lavishly photo-illustrated one-trick booklets were produced in the series, all created and written by Gary Ouellet:
- Finger on the Card
- Supershells
- The Silver Passage
- The Two Goblets
- The Homing Ring
- Threshold.
- The Coin Connection. This Seventh and last installment was written by Gary Ouellet, but created by Eric DeCamps.
Other tricks have been publicly slated for the series, including Meir Yedid's CompuCard which was instead published in Incredible Close-Up Magic (Ouellet, 1982), Gary Ouellet's The Silverdust Routine which ended up in Close-Up Illusions (1990), and David Acer's Printed Matter which ultimately appeared in Natural Selections, Volume II (Acer, 1999).
