It was reported on the cover story of Novermber, 1901 issue of [[Mahatma]] that he was practicing hypnotism, card and coin manipulation and made  a specialty of mind-reading performances. He was a gifted musician  able to play a variety of unusual instruments including the Arch of Chimes, Mandolin, Musical Coins and Glasses and the Zither.
