Cosmic Ray Cards (also known as Super X-Ray Cards) was a Mechanical Deck invented by Ralph W. Hull that he marketed from 1933 to 1939.
The pack is cut by a spectator and the two cards produced by the cut are placed on a small stand. The Joker is then placed with these two cards.
The first of the two selected cards is taken and placed on the face of the pack then the whole pack is shown to have changed into that card. The second card is placed on the face of the pack and now the whole pack now shown to have become that card. The Joker is then placed on the face of the pack and all the cards become Jokers. The Joker is removed and the pack shown to have reverted back to its normal condition.
