This category concerns visible props or "contraptions" that a conjurer uses when performing magic on stage. We will eliminate from the category that which is commonplace, like magazines, newspapers, coats, wallets and the like. Instead we will consider only special props that don't exist outside of the conjurer's realm, like a die box, a square circle prop, a super-X levitation and so on. A length of rope is not our concern here, but the specially prepared rope for performing Professor Cheer's Comedy Rope Act is considered apparatus in this sense.

Apparatus

This category concerns visible props or "contraptions" that a conjurer uses when performing magic on stage. We will eliminate from the category that which is commonplace, like magazines, newspapers, coats, wallets and the like. Instead we will consider only special props that don't exist outside of the conjurer's realm, like a die box, a square circle prop, a super-X levitation and so on. A length of rope is not our concern here, but the specially prepared rope for performing Professor Cheer's Comedy Rope Act is considered apparatus in this sense.
