Merlin Eifert continued the St. Louis Magic Studio as a mail order business after founder Paul S. Limerick left for the army.

He served as President of IBM Ring One in St. Lous in IBM Ring in 1942 and later as President of P. C. A. M. in 1967.[1]

In 1948 he moved to Long Beach, California where he founded I.B.M. Ring 96 the following year and took part in founding the Long Beach Mystics Club. Ring 96 was later named the Merlin Eifert Ring in 1974 in his honor


He died just after attended a magic convention in Japan, suffering a heart attack on his return.[2][3]
