Bill Frazee (June 18, 1881 - September 28, 1957) born William Meyenberg in Brooklyn, was in and around magic his entire life.
Biography
Frazee got the magic bug when a traveling salesman pitched Svengali Decks at his father's pub. By the age of 15, Bill learned acquired enough magic equipment to start out on his own, around his area. Except for ten year as a registry clerk in the New York Post Office, Frazee has spent his life in and around magic.
Frazee toured with Carl Rosini from 1920 to early 1924 and then went out on his own with the Chautauqua circuit. One engagement took him to Philadelphia where finally ended up residing. His act was described in Holden's Programmes of Famous Magicians.
Frazee wrote a column called "Squawks" in Sphinx reporting news and opinions. First from his home in East Orange, New Jersey then from Philadelphia by 1932.
He worked in Mike Kanter's magic shop of for the last 20 years of his life.[1][2][3]
