Olaf T. Gylleck (1886-1967) was a professional vaudeville magician from 1907 until 1910 until family life forced him to find a more stable job in the printing industry, settling down in Michigan as a semi-pro.

Biography

Gylleck, taught magic by his amateur magician father, performed before the public for upwards of 50 years, in vaudeville and as a club performer. At one time he worked a double ac with his brother, Elmer.[1]

Born in Denmark, but moved as child to United States where he was raised in Dixon, Illinois (outside of Chicago). As a young adult, he went into vaudeville as a professional magician.[2] From 1907 to 1910, Gylleckwas very successful, touring Vaudeville.[3]

After settling down in Michigan, Gylleck never missed an Abbott's Get-Together.

  • On a trip to Denmark, he was made an honorary member of the Magisk Cirkel, whose magazine described him as "a likeable U.S.A. Swindler!"
