Five Times Five: Japan is the first book in a series created by author Richard Kaufman to showcase the creative talents of magicians in countries outside the United States.
It contains five tricks each from five magicians: Masao Atsukawa, Tomo Maeda, Hiro Sakai, Kuniyasu Fujiwara, and Ken Kuroki.
The actual title of the book is simply Five Times Five as stated on the cover. It is now referred to as Five Times Five: Japan to differentiate it from the second volume in the series Five Times Five: Scotland.
