The Floating Deck is an impromptu one-on-one close-up levitation of a deck of cards by Paul Harris.
It was first published in Close Up Fantasies Book Two (1980) and later included in Art of Astonishment Volume 2 (1996).
Variations
- How to Pop a Floating Deck by Srechko Howard. First published in Ben Harris' Killer Close-up (1986) and reprinted in Art of Astonishment Volume 2 (1996).
- Floater by Jay Sankey, published in Sankey Panky (1986). Adaptation of old sleight-of-hand method for single-card rise to effect full-deck levitation.
- Incredible Full Deck Levitation, by Ken Krenzel, released as a separate manuscript (1988). Can't be performed completely impromptu, but has better (wider) sightlines than original Paul Harris method.
- Uppity, by Jay Sankey and David Acer, first published in April 2000 issue of Genii, then later in Random Acts of Magic (2004). Impromptu "dinner-table" full-deck levitation under a napkin. Deck then vanishes, leaving only selected card.
