Starting his serious study of magic at 19, and by his mid 20s, he was known to the top magicians in the field. Roger met his wife Wanda in 1952 in high school and were married Aug. 20, 1955 in Clayton, New Mexico. By the time he was 30, he had developed and earned the reputation as a top sleight of hand artist. Into his 40s, Roger was lecturing and teaching many of the finest magicians around the world.
 
Roger was 70 years old when he died after a long bout with cancer. He was survived by his wife Wanda, his son Kevin, two daughters, Shari and Keri; two brothers, Richard and Mike Klause; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
