Walter H. Landis (1897-1950) was a magician, ventriloquist and escape artist was billed as "Landis the National Escape Artist and Magician".[1][2]

Biography

Landis became interested in escaped as a boy after watching Houdini get "boxed up" in a movie serial.

He did a full evening show of magic and escapes, and appeared in parks, theaters, and clubs.

Landis held I. B. M. card No. 268 and was president of the Red Rose Ring of Magicians (I.B.M. Ring no. 51) before it and was a member of the Grand Council of Professional Magicians clubs.[3]
