[[Abacus]] was a monthly [[Magic Periodical]] from [[Al Smith]] that ran  for ten years from September 1992 to August 2002. A total of 144 issues.
Abacus was a monthly Magic Magzine published by Al Smith in Yorkshire, England. Neither one thing nor the other, the term Magzine is an adulteration of magazine and fanzine. First issue, September 1992, final issue August 2002. Published monthly, total of 144 issues. Regular schedule, that is (miraculously) on-time, every month.


Some of the contributors were [[Ed Marlo]], [[Marty Kane]] and [[Peter Duffie]], Max Maven, Stephen Tucker, Paul Gordon.
Familiar mix of tricks, reviews, essays, grumbles, criticism, interviews, and never-very-humble opinion. No adverts, but plenty of solid plugs for friends and for stuff the editor liked.
All issues were a mixture of trick and non-tick material, with the single exception of volume (5) number (2), October 1996. This was a one-man effort from Peter Duffie.
