Martin Lewis was born in England in 1946 to magician Eric C. Lewis. He emigrated to the United States in his twenties (1968).

He created a number of effects including Sidewalk Shuffle.

He has worked at Earthquake McGoon's Magic Cellar in San Francisco and on cruise ships.

David Copperfield, in his 1991 and 1994 Television specials, featured effects from Martin's book Martins Miracles.

He took over running Magikraft Studios that his farther started in 1934.

Martin has won Visiting Magician of the Year Award and Parlor Magician of the Year( 2000 and 2001) from the Academy of Magical Arts.
