Te Tohunga was the official Magic Periodical of the New Zealand Society of Magicians. It began publishing in 1922, making it New Zealand's first magic magazine. Twenty-two issues were originally produced then it returned in 1939.

It was later replaced with Magic Parade in 1949.

The name comes from the culture of the Māori of New Zealand in which a "tohunga" is an expert practitioner of any skill or art, religious or otherwise (e.g. priests, healers, navigators, carvers, builders, teachers and advisers.)[1]
