The Nine Card Problem is a trick invented by Jim Steinmeyer.

In effect, a spectator selects any nine cards from the deck and looks at one of them. They mix the cards in a manner depending upon the name of his card, by spelling the name and cutting the cards there. The performer who does not know the name of the card is still able to identify the location of the card in the packet at the conclusion of the effect.
