Since 1996, [[Bertil Fredström]] ,the permanent secretary of the Academy, has attempted to bring the Academy to life again. In October 2014 the Academy became active again. The current permanent secretary of the Academy is Per Ekelund.

Magic Academy of Sweden, a Magic Organization that was started by Dr. Nils Simonson in Stockholm, December 8 1962, and consisted of eighteen Swedish Magicians.[1]

The stated goal and purpose for the Academy is to advance the Swedish art of magic, through lectures, discussions and intellectual exchange between the members. To further the artistic level of Swedish magic by being role models, and to raise the public appreciation for magic.
