Capt. J. E. Stone was an amateur magician and author.
Stone was a member of the Magic Circle, the British Magical Society where he served as a president and the IBM.[1]
After not finding the Magic Circle very cordial, he started the London Society of Magicians. Capt. Stone fell out with the LSM eventually, left that club and retired into obscurity. [2][3]
