Don Turley gained a local reputation as a magician working engagements at private and public functions in and around Kansas City, Missouri.

A skillful musician at a young age, he learned magic from Edward Maro in his teens starting in 1889. He was assisted in his work by his wife.[1]

In the July 1912 issue of the Sphinx, it was announced that he moved to Los Angeles

"The Magician Waltz" by W.H. Adams, published in 1902, was "Dedicated to Don Turley the magician."
