The League has awarded Honorary Vice Presidencies to members and non-members who  have made significant contributions to the Society and to the world of magic in general. Modern Mystic League, Blackburn & District Society of Magicians was founded in 1914.[1]

The first meeting being on February 12th, at 54 Galligreaves Street, Blackburn (the home of Mr. Thomas Jennings) The invitation to form a Society of Magicians in Blackburn was from Mr. John J. Wareing.

The League has awarded Honorary Vice Presidencies to members and non-members who have made significant contributions to the Society and to the world of magic in general. Those who have been so honoured are the late Paul Daniels, Maurice Howarth, and John Tattersall.[2]. The current Honorary Vice Presidents are Debbie McGee and Trevor Dawson.
