Mysterious Brown was a retired naval officer, camera repair shop owner, taught artist, art teacher (in public schools), a school assembly magician and ventriloquist.
Brown was a Chavez Studio of Magic student who learned ventriloquism from Max Terhune in exchange for magic lessons.
He held I.B.M. number 3611 and was a member of Ring 291 which he served as Ring Secretary and Ring Reporter.
Brown worked for Abbott's for a couple of years in the 1940's and designed some of the stencils used on props.
He used a vent figure, Harley, made by George McAthy.[1]
