• 1907 - Irving Desfor, famous for his photographs of magicians which appeared in major magic journals for over fifty years, born in New York City.
• 1932 - Richard Barrs wins a competition held at Maskelyne's Theatre St. George’s Hall which leads the twelve year old to a professional engagement at that theater.
• 1932 - The Los Angeles Society of Magicians honored Howard Thurston with a banquet at the club rooms of the California Artist Protective Association, then located at Eighth and Broadway.
• 1936 - Howard Thurston dies from a stroke. He is entombed at Green Lawn Abbey, a mausoleum in Columbus, Ohio.
• 1965 - Harry Blackstone Jr. appears on the Mike Douglas Show.
