Verne Chesbro (1913-1982) was a professional magician for over 20 years, except for time he spent in the Army. While in Germany he met and married his German wife, Buryl. They collaborated on a book published in German of fairy tales for grown ups. She did the illustrations and he wrote the stories.[1]

His nephew, Bob Chesbro, also took up magic.
