Cavaliere Antonio Poletti performed in the 1850s as "The Roman Illusionist" in London.[1]

Biography

In 1859, he gave performances in London at the Hanover Square Rooms, Willis's Rooms, and the Royal Gallery of Illustration in Waterloo Place. His experiments included the Prolific Scarf, the Bottle of Tantalus, the Dancing Egg, the Magic Hat, and the Gun Trick.[2][3]
