Vynn Boyar was an electronics engineer, a semi-professional magician working nite clubs, hotels, and lodges throughout the United States and long time SAM supporter.

His interest in Magic started when his dad took him to see a performance given by Richard Davis, the Man of a Thousand Mysteries, in a local school at the age of 10.

He joined the Society of American Magicians at 18 and helped organize the Harry Houdini Assembly in Waterbury, Connecticut. He served as the national offices of Regional Vice President, National Secretary, as an editor of MUM (while it was a part of Genii) for several years and National President (1967-68).[1]

Boyar also worked on both the United States Lines and the Holland-America Lines doing magic as a ship entertainer on cruises to Havana, Bermuda, and Mexico.[2]

In the fall of 1941 he married Helynn, who joined the act as the Boyars [3]
