Magic Masters

Magic Masters is a chain of magic shops which has at one time been located in Atlanta, Washington D.C., Baltimore, New Orleans, Orlando and St. Thomas.

They are located in upper class hotels and tourist areas. The magic props are displayed in showcases with demonstrators manning the booths.

The Magic Masters operation was the brain child ofKen Fletcher. In 1974, he decided to make his living in magic leaving a franchise sales company to start Magic Masters in Westbury, New York. It started as a manufacturing company with one item, the T.V. Card Frame. Later that year while visiting a relative in Atlanta, Georgia and discussing the problem of what to do with two giant crates of magic effects he had, it was suggested opening a small retail shop just for a month or two, to sell the items. He opened a tiny six by eight foot booth in the OMNI mall in Atlanta selling only magic. Jeff Justice started working for Magic Maters shortly after the shop opened, and helped write many of the sales presentations, including one for Rocky Racoon.

Dennis Sowers joined later and become the company's best salesman and later headed up the training of new demonstrators. Mike Abston joined next to supervise two stores in New Orleans. David Williamson joined the team in the late 1980s.
