Harry Dobrin , a shop teacher at Niles Junior High School in New York City, was the grandson of the Latvian magician, Dobrin, "Master of the Thousand Tricks."

A member of Parent Assembly No. 1, Society of American Magicians, New York City, he learned magic at an early age from his family. After school hours he manufactured magical equipment, performed at U.S.O. shows presenting hypnotism and mental telepathy.[1]

Invented the Dobrin Double-Locking Slate.
