Petit Pigalle

PETIT PIGALLE was a popular local St. Louis establishment headed up by Phil Craig and Mike Hartman. Located at 4207 Lindell Boulevard it was an entertainment hub and popular venue for local magician talent, amateur comedians, visiting entertainers and various musical acts. Known officially as "PETIT PIGALLE Cafe Galerie" the establishment entertained and hosted numerous luminaries over the years, including female pioneer magician Nell Newton (aka Dell O'Dell "The World's Leading Lady Magician"), bandleader/musician/singer Ted Lewis, Hollywood actor Tyrone Power, legendary magician John Scarne, the great Dr. Harlan Tarbell, Bev Taylor (Towne House Magic-St. Louis), Will Lindhorst (Lindhorst Magic Den-St. Louis), Gene DeVoe (DeVoe's Magic Den-St. Louis), magician R. Ross Durbin, magician Bob Cole, Netherlands import "OTIKO" (Tobias Bamberg), magician Paul J. Wood, KSD-TV's "Parade of Magic" magician Ernie Heldman (and Arlene Mardel), magician Joe Scott, Sgt. Jack Makepeace, magician-great Paul LePaul and Hollywood's own "Magic Castle" staple Don Lawton (formerly of St. Louis).
