Billy Ewing, "The King of Cards" was an African American sleight-of-hand artist that specialized in cards but was also noted for his work with coins. After being seen doing tricks by Template:Howard Thurston, Thurston hired Ewing as an assistant. Ewing left Thurston and joined up with a comedian, eventually dropping magic from his act completely.
