James L. Holmes (1892-1980), know as "Jimmy", was Dean and a life member of Ring #59 of the International Brotherhood of Magicians as well as being an early Society of American Magicians member and one of the fifty members at the time belonging to the New Haven Magical Society.

Biography

Holmes continued to perform as a magician until a short time before his death, after having retired from his regular employment for over seventeen years. He had served with the American Army in World War I in both France and Germany. He often contributed to magic magazines, and was an expert teacher of baton twirling.[1] [2][3]
