Order of Merlin is awarded to members of the International Brotherhood of Magicians with continuous membership for 25 years.[1]

Other levels now include:

  • Order of Merlin - Shield (35 years)
  • Order of Merlin - Excalibur (50 years)
  • Order of Merlin - Excelsior (60 years)

Suggested by International Treasurer Thomas Dowd, the first award was presented in 1976 at the 50th anniversary of the first convention.[2]
