Nelson C. Hahne (1908-1970) was an illustrator for many books and magazines, with Modern Coin Magic being one of his most well known.
Biography
Hahne graduated from the University of Dayton with a BS degree in Commerce.
He Illustrated Jean Hugard's Modern Magic Manual and J. B. Bobo's Modern Coin Magic. He drew illustrations for the Linking Ring Magazine for many years.[1] and provided many illustrations and covers for the mentalism catalogues of Robert Nelson. Much of his art was unsigned, but when he did sign his drawings he either used his initials, NH, or his surname, Nelson. An excellent anatomist and designer, his art style changed over the years from formal Art Deco pen-and ink compositions in the 1930s to a looser brush-and-ink "commercial art" style in the 1950s.
He was a close friend of Laurie Ireland, and he also helped write a few books.[2]
