Diamond Cut Diamond is a card routine by Alex Elmsley which was published in Genii 1954 November (page 85).

Effect: A selected diamond, from a packet of all the diamonds, changes to a previously selected card. The ace to ten of diamonds are removed from the deck and are arranged in order. The rest of the deck is shuffled, a card is peeked at by a spectator. The diamond packet is now picked up and placed faced down on top of the deck. The spectator is asked to choose a number between one and ten. The diamonds on top the deck are dealt face-up until the selected number. That card is left face-down as the rest of the diamonds are dealt face up. The face down card, which should be a diamond, is turned over and shown to now be the previously peeked at card from the rest of the deck.
