Hikita Tenko (1934-1979), a professional escape artist and illusionist, as a Japanese TV star in the 1970s.

Biography

Inspired by a local magician at the age of eight, he performed in Western dress. Added a dove act after seeing Channing Pollock in the 1962 Italian film European Nights.

He became one of the highest paid entertainers in Japan.

His career was halted after a heart attack in 1976 and before a come-back effort, another heart attack ended his life.[1]
