L. L. Henry (1902-1981), who performed as Henri, was a card fan specialist. He worked hotel circuit and supper clubs during 1930s until the 1960s.[1]

Biography

He became interested in art after seeing S. S. Henry doing sand pictures and would himself become a portrait and rag picture artist.

Henry started his club act when dared to create an act just out of card fans. Debuting in Detroit in the 1930s, he would work from coast to coast and from Mexico City to Juneau, Alaska. He carried his own lights and did part of the act in "black light".[2]

He was a barber by profession and cut hair in his room at conventions to cover expenses. He retired in 1965 after some 40 years in several Toledo area shops.[3][4]
