Sam the Bellhop (or The Saga of Sam the Bellhop) is a story telling trick using the deck of cards (a la Soldier's Prayer Book).

It was popularized by Frank Everhart and was the first trick he learned (although it didn't really include any magic). He sold his version through the Ireland Magic Co. in 1961. See ad in Linking Ring August 1961 but the story of Sam was published before[1].

Bill Malone made it a bit more magical by including false shuffles and cuts[2].
