Alexander Davis was a professional ventriloquist magician from Britain.

Davis invented the four door sucker version of the Die Box and first performed it in the United States around 1886.[1] Davis sold the manufacturing rights to Otto Maurer who began marketing it in 1887 as the "Most Wonderful Dice Trick".
