António Cardinal
António Cardinal, was born in Porto city, in 1942, and is a Portuguese magician (Cardinal´s), conferencist, author of many published papers, member of magic contests juri, and organizer of several events, namely the renowed MagicValongo, as well as director of some magic institutions.
António Cardinal is the coordinator, since its creation two decades ago, and president of the MagicValongo international festival of illusionism and of the respective association of the same name, he was also the coordinator of MagicPorto and of a couple of editions of the International Festival of illusionism of Figueira da Foz. He is a former president of the Clube Ilusionista Fenianos (Porto, Portugal) the first Portuguese institution to be accepted by FISM.
He was the President of the Juri of the Macau International Festival of illusionism, 2010. He was, for several times, also President of the juri at the Figueira da Foz above mentioned festival (as well as member of the juri in several other occasions) and several times President of the São Joaão Bosco/CIF festival.
As a magician - for about 50 years - he has perfomed in Portugal, U.S.A., Canada, Spain, Macau, Tunisia, Angola, Cape Verde and Germany. He performed in many casinos, guest of a Lushophonie festival, and he appeared in TV shows in several Portuguese TV channels about one hundred times as a performer, commentatorof magic issues, conferencist, author and organizer of magic events. His main activities as a performer are/were stage illusions, general magic and mentalism, besides conferencist.
He published for ten years magic cronicles intitled »Magia por Cardinal» (magic by Cardinal) on one of the most important and read Portuguese general newspaper, Jornal de Notícias. He has also published in several magic journals such as Folha Mágica, from CIF. He also has a blog, in Portuguese, on magic issues, Entrada Livre - Arte da Ilusão ( http://artedailusao.org/smf/index.php?board=2.0). He is known for creating and adapting several tricks and effects that are well accepted by the magic community, namelçy in Portugal.
António Cardinal is still active in most of the above mentioned activities.
