Bascom Jones (October 28, 1924 - March 23, 1994) was born in San Diego, California. Bascom joined the Army Air Corp after graduating from high school in 1942 and flew combat in World War II.

Bascom inherited from his Uncle, T. Page Wright, a professional magician, an extensive library of magic and illusion.

For over 25 years starting in 1970, Bascom put out the monthly publication Magick for mentalist.

In 1992, he was awarded the Literary Fellowship from the Academy of Magical Arts at the Magic Castle where he was a familiar figure.
