Beads of Prussia is an effect where a handful of beads and a piece of string are swallowed (or placed in a glass) and brought out strung again.
Originally an authentic Indian trick in the 1800s. Sewing needles eventually replaced the beads to create the Needle Trick, made famous by Houdini, which in turn inspired the Razor Blade Trick.
Also known the Carmo Beads, the Arabian Beads, Albenice Beads, the Arabian Bead Mystery and the Bead Trick.
Carmo Beads
Created in late 1920s by Carmo the Great and performed by him as a pet effect to the end of his career. He sold all rights in 1938 to Davenport's who first marketed it in 1940.
Arabian Beads
Featured by John Albenice at his Arabian Night Club in New York City.
