Bob White (b.1941-d.2020), at thirty-four years of age, resigned his executive position with one of the largest independent insurance agencies in Dallas, Texas to begin a new vocation as a professional magician.

Biography

At age five, he presented a ten minute magic act, which his father taught him, at the Mercantile National Bank Building in downtown Dallas. By the time he was fifteen, he had learned card tricks that baffled his father.

Before entering college, White went to Honolulu to work for the summer performing tricks with cards and coins at the hotels and night spots on Waikiki. While there, entertained celebrities like Tab Hunter, Debbie Reynolds, Robert Conrad, Connie Stevens, The Kingston Trio, Dorothy Malone, David Niven, Loreatta Young and Peter Lewis, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Bergen and his thirteen year old daughter Candace.

During his college years he began working for Neiman Marcus party consultants and a select group of Dallas theatrical booking agents. He performed at debutante parties, exclusive engagements in homes, country clubs, hotels, and for corporations. He was also the opening act for singers Billy Daniels and June Vali when they appeared in Dallas.

In 1986, he vacationed in Los Angeles and appeared as a guest performer at the Magic Castle in Hollywood, California.
