Bobby Baxter (1920 - 2009), born Edwin Jerome Ziegler, was a comedy magician known as "Professor Baxter" that began performing professionally in the 1940s.
One of the first mentions of Baxter in Genii was the in Harold Sterling's Detroit News section of the September 1941 issue stating that he was playing clubs in Detroit doing some beautiful linking ring routines.
Baxter performed at the Festival of Magic and Occult in Madison Square Garden in 1972 and became a legend in the New York magic scene. He was a regular M.C. for magic shows and performed at Monday Night Magic in his later years. He was also known for his thimble manipulation work.
