Carl Heilbron was well known to magicians on the West Coast.

He moved to San Diego in 1888, where he remained the rest of his life, and became a member of the San Diego Magicians Club. Heilbron started his career as a telephone company employee, but soon engaged in the electrical contracting business. He became president and general manager of the Southern Electrical Company in San Diego.

The year before his death, he helped sponsor the 1940 P.C.A.M. Convention in San Diego, as well as being on the cover of Genii.[1]

He was also the first president of the San Diego Rotary Club, and connected with the Elks, Eagles, Native Sons and Knight Templars.[2]
