Carroll Baker (born May 28, 1931) is an American actress who has enjoyed popularity as both a serious dramatic actress and, particularly in the 1960s, a movie sex symbol.

Baker was born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Virginia and William Watson Baker, who was a traveling salesman. She spent a year at community college, and subsequently worked as a magician's assistant to Burling Hull (Volta the Great). As a magician's helper, she said she learned how to handle props, stand with one knee slightly bent and crossed in front of its mate, and always remain pretty.[1]
