Dr. Charlton Chute was doctor of philosophy & long time member of the IBM & SAM.
He became interested with the magic bug as a youth, learning from Professor Hoffman's magic books at his local public library.
From 1922 to 1929 he was a popular entertainer in & around Los Angeles while attending UCLA. He graduated with a degree in political science & then went to the University of Chicago to get a Doctor of philosophy degree in public administration in 1935.
From 1938 to 1947 he served with the Government Research Institute of St. Louis, Missouri. While in St. Louis he served as president of the IBM Ring One.[1]
He taught Political Science at the University of North Carolina & by 1947, Linking Ring reports show him living near Philadelphia.
