Circus Card Trick

Circus Card Trick is an amusing swindle originally used by cardsharpers to fleece the unwary.

The name comes from frequently appearing alongside such swindles as the Shell Game and Three Card Monte in the repertoires of those who attached themselves to circuses on tour.

During a "find a card" effect, cards are dealt off the pack one at a time, face up, onto the table. After purposely passing by the spectator's card, the swindler wages that "the next card I turn over is your card". After the bet, he reaches into the pile of already dealt down face up cards, turns the correct card face down, and wins the money.
