Deep Astonishment
Deep Astonishment was a product created by Paul Harris with Rodney Whitlock to help perform the Anything Deck routine in 2000.
In this version, a random card is covered with your wallet to keep it safe. You then ask the spectator to think of a personal magic word. Let's say her word is "rose". You then use her magic word "rose" to help you find the "soul mate" of the card that's under the wallet. You then open the wallet to remove a packet of spare cards that you placed there last night. Their backs, are of a different color than the deck you've been using, have the letters "R", "O", "S", "E" written on them.
In 2005, Deep Astonishment II: The Gypsy was released as updated version that Included a custom-made leather envelope and Gypsy Fortune Telling Cards.
